prehensible: (we were meant to feel the pain)

[ ah, he was right. human families are still a little puzzling at times for some of the blades, but souza understands this much, anyway. humans can make their own families the same way sword-spirits can. the thing that makes souza's brothers his brothers, after all, is the fact that they were forged by the same human man. they choose to consider one another siblings, but they could as easily refuse to do so. in the end, it's a choice. .. and just like that, tenka chooses to consider souza and kousetsu a part of his family, and at one time, chose to consider kotarou family.

that had been broken, somehow. because for some reason, clan is more important than family, at least to the fuuma, and though tenka clearly still cares for kotarou (and kotarou for tenka, he thinks), there's also a division between them. that division seems to hurt both of them, and the emotion in tenka's voice and expression makes souza's heart swell painfully in his chest with something like tenderness. this man is not his owner, refuses to be his owner, but souza thinks that he'll love him anyway. it might be impossible not to.

he lifts their joined hands, cupping tenka's hand against his cheek, tilting into the contact. ]
I will be. And I would be very grateful if he were to eventually consider me a friend. He and his brother. I think.. we understand one another to some degree. [ he turns his head to drop a quick, fond kiss in tenka's palm, expression warming again. ] I'll tell you when I go to have tea with them if you like.
