But... he hadn't. He could explain away the first few hours by... grudgingly acknowledging the fact he'd been sort of stunned by some of the orders he obeyed. Some had been downright degrading, some just well beyond what he would consider doing. He'd been angry, and then frustrated and exasperated -- it had taken a little while to get through those to where he could look with a more reasonable eye on the whole thing.
As midnight slid into dawn, Shirasu still hadn't contacted Tenka, Shirasu had to admit to being afraid. His promise had not specifically extended to Kagemitsu, but knowing Tenka, Tenka thought of the man as family.
Shirasu doesn't really know or understand what he wants from Tenka (or what Tenka wants from him), but he knows he doesn't want to lose the chance to find out.
