When he chuckles her voice gets a little more excited.]

[It looked like a monster alright, he's calling it like he sees it.]

[She sounds really proud of him still.]

[Terminology gap- but then he's just laughing a bit.]

[Lily firmly nods, sorry she knows Bandersnatch is though, she hasn't seen Tenka fight yet.]

Since I made a contract with him I know he's really strong!

[Lily stops and looks really confused.]

Oh...It's this really beautiful place that the Baskervilles protect. It was pretty but then it fell into darkness...I could see the golden lights that lead me to my family.

Yeah! You have to make contracts with chains to use their powers.

[It all makes sense to Lily...but it could be complicated to explain.]

Bad things happened...the city of Sablier was falling and Master Glen ordered us to kill the people of the city.

He's fast and can bite with enough force to tear people apart!

[And despite everything, that's where Tenka pauses entirely. His line of questioning stops as his blood runs cold in his veins. There's a look of surprise on his face that he doesn't bother to hide even as he asks-]

... You killed people, Lily-chan? Why?

[You're too young to have blood on your hands.]

[The topic of killing roll off her tongue like it was nothing, it wasn't because she enjoyed it, but she was used to it at this point. However, she can tell the surprise in Tenka's voice. Head tiling to the side she soon nods to confirm his question.]

Yeah, Master Glen ordered it.

[She said it like that was the big answer though she does continue.]

People pulled into the abyss alive turn into chains...and they are left outside of the 100 year cycle of reincarnation. So he wanted us to kill them.

[That's how Lottie and Fang explained it...at least.]

[Reincarnation? Tenka didn't really believe in that sort of thing but if it's really true in her world.... well, if the city was already in peril, he supposes he can understand. But at the same time, to think that the small girl in front of him had dealt with such gruesome things....]

.... Lily-chan, I understand.

But can Ten-nii ask you to do something? Can you do Ten-nii a favor?

[It was an all too real cycle for the little Baskerville, people left out were said to suffer...Lottie said that at least. She didn't know all of the details but she heard enough sometimes.]

Lily looks a little confused before she speaks.]

M-Mn...okay?

I promise I understand so I'm not going to be mad.

But... here, the 100 year cycle probably doesn't affect things - I think it's something that strictly happens in your home, in your world. [He'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume that really was the reason.] But if you kill people here, then it won't be a good thing. They'll lose their friends and family and people are gonna be sad.

So if Ten-nii promises that he'll take care of you and he'll beat up all the mean people, can you promise that you won't kill anyone here?

[Lily is still a little confused about why he's doing this but after a few moments she nods.]

I wouldn't kill someone for no reason here, Ten-nii... [Unless she was told to by Master Glen. However she does take in what he says...]

I don't want to make people sad...

[A pause.]

...I promise.

I know, Lily-chan. You're a sweet girl and I believe you!

[ . . . . ]

But killing anybody makes Ten-nii really sad. So I just wanted to make sure. Sometimes people get misled, but I want you to know that I think you're stronger than that.

[Lily looks happy that he believes her but then he said 'misled'.]

Master Glen didn't mislead me! He wouldn't do it without a good reason, it's horrible being turned into a chain!

[She's just a tad defensive about her Master, Tenka.]

[ . . . . . for a moment, he pauses. He doesn't know Glen and Tenka doesn't doubt being turned into a chain - a monster, is awful. If there truly is a hundred year cycle of reincarnation, those people really were better off being killed.

Except the phrase 'better off dead' doesn't resonate with Tenka at all. Not until he'll speak to the man himself.

So for now he just nods placatingly.]

I know, Lily-chan. I didn't say anything about your master, did I?

But you know other people who kill, right? People who are genuinely dangerous and think they have to do it in order to survive. I just never want you to have to deal with people like that.

No...you didn't.

[Lily feels kind of bad for snapping at Tenka now. He didn't say anything about her Master and she feels her eyes watering up a little.]

M-Mn, I do. Okay, Ten-nii...I'm sorry I raised my voice.

[She seems really upset with herself about it.]

[That much manages to get him to chuckle faintly and he shakes his head, still understanding.]

It's okay, Lily-chan! I thought it was impressive!!

[And then he takes in a big breath and he's just doing this to make her laugh now-]

I can do it too!! -- but I think you can do it better than me.

[The chuckle makes her feel a little bit better, more so when he's impressed.]

You are?

[With his raised voice she jumps a little before she grins back with a small laugh.]

Ten-nii, I can yell really loud too!

[She's distracted and he's laughing and he's feeling much better than when she was about to cry.]

[That much manages to make him laugh in response then, loud and bright.]
